Why two nights usually feels too short

• Day three: Explore the eastern or western side of your chosen base. Avoid changing hotels unless your onward route genuinely benefits from it.
• Day four: Continue to Gqeberha, George Airport or back towards Cape Town, depending on the wider itinerary.

Three nights works best as a focused sample. Pick one main base and accept that another part of the region will wait for a future trip.

Four nights lets you use two bases without turning every morning into checkout. One can cover Wilderness or Knysna, while the second brings Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma within easier reach. Finish the Cape Peninsula portion in Simon's Town if Boulders Beach and Cape Point are priorities. You can enjoy those southern attractions without repeatedly crossing the city, sleep after the Peninsula day, then start the Garden Route transfer after breakfast.
