Simon’s Town is also one of the Cape’s most historic naval towns, where you can watch the activities of the Simon’s Town Naval Base. There are wonderful maritime museums showing the use of the harbour as an important port for ships rounding the southern tip of Africa en route to the East. You can take a leisurely stroll down cobbled streets to explore our Victorian village boasting beautiful historical buildings and houses, museums, antique shops, cultural arts market, restaurants and quaint shops to peruse. 

From Simon’s Town harbour, you may choose to take a canoe or kayak trip to paddle to the penguins, book a boat trip to see the wonderful wildlife of the bay, head out deep sea fishing, sailing, kite surfing, learn to scuba dive, birdwatching, or even shark cage diving with the famous great whites of Seal Island.

Visit our unique Toy Museum, The Scratch Patch or Mineral World which is a wonder of gemstones. Visit the most visited tourist attraction being the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, the famous Table Mountain Cable Way and V&A Waterfront. The beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Horse Riding on the beach. A scenic train trip along the False Bay Coast line and stopping in Kalk Bay - A Fishing Harbour - see the fisherman bring in the days’ catch. A bit further on is the famous Muizenburg Surfers Corner.

Boulders Beach, famous for its unique colony of protected Jackass African penguins is a must see, where swimming among the penguins and sunbathing is popular.
